Keep the body low. Stay silent. Every time he hunted, he remembered those words come from his dead mentor's mouth. WildPatch crept through the meadow slyly, yellow eyes set on the back of a clueless Field Mouse. Keeping down wind, WildPatch crept closer before pouncing, putting both paws on either side of the mouse and bit down on its neck before it could run. A successful, easy hunt. WildPatch bit down harder on the Mouse's head before padding off through the long grass, the soft ground underneath his paws relaxing. Wildpatch thought things over; he had hunted for the Clan, and now it was his turn to have a meal.
Wildpatch stopped, sitting down on his haunches and let the mouse fall at his paws. He looked about cautiously, wondering if another cat was about, but spotted no one and lowered his head down, biting into the carcass's back hungrily. He bit down a few times, just nibbling on the meat before taking a proper bite and finished it within minutes. Licking his lips happily, Wildpatch straightened his back and looked about again, his head just above the blades of grass.
His right ear twitched as he listened to birds chirp, and a small sigh escaped him as he pawed at the ground. Things were going along fine, but the scars on his back stung slightly every so often, not letting him forget about the past. At the thought of his brother running into battle with foxes, a shiver ran along his spine and WildPatch stood up quickly, buried the bones of the mouse and made his way through the meadow again, wondering aimlessly but peacefully, the clouds blocking any chance of sunlight, which made WildPatch a bit happier.

Splotchpaw had been chasing a plump vole around. He caught it stealthily and began to carry back to camp. He noticed his mentor, Wildpatch, was walking towards him. He wanted to greet his mentor and show him the prize he had caught. He carried it prodly over to WildPatch.
"WildPatch! Look what I caught!" he said happily. He bounded over to his mentor and droped the dead vole at his feet. He looked up happily. SplotchPaw was never good at hunting, but he was learning a bit more everyday.
SplotchPaw looked at the tranquility around them. He wondered if the other clans had as much peace as they had everyday. The way the warriors talked about it they didn't.
Wildpatch purred a small greeting to Splotchpaw before looking at the dead vole. Impressed, Wildpatch let a smile flicker for a moment before it stayed as he meowed. "Well done, Splotchpaw." Wildpatch complimented, tail twitching, "Is it for the Clan, or have you already hunted?" The Warrior wanted to make sure that Splotchpaw wasn't try to sneak any meals for himself before hunting for the Clan. It wasn't because Wildpatch didn't trust the Apprentice, he just wanted to be careful.
Following the younger cat's gaze, Wildpatch let out a soft sigh of content. He was thankful Oakstar let him join, and he was thankful for an Apprentice such as Splotchpaw.
"Thanks Wildpatch. No, I haven't hunted yet. This is for the Clan." he said excitedly. "I'm going to bury this now." he added. He picked the Vole up with his fangs and carried it to an open patch of soft dirt and buried it. Then Splotchpaw went back to his mentor and asked "Can we go hunting together? I want to show you how much better I've gotten." He nodded softley.
